Location

Located in the beautiful surroundings of Burleigh Heads, David Fleay’s is a wildlife park with a difference. As you wander through the grounds, you will discover iconic Australian wildlife in their natural habitat. The park is inspired by the legacy of naturalist David Fleay who insisted that animals be cared for and nurtured in an environment that resembled their natural habitat. At the park, you will find animals in natural enclosures to reflect his philosophy and life’s work in research, breeding and education. Among some of the friendly animals that you will find here are endangered southern cassowaries and tree kangaroos in the rainforest. You can also meet wallabies and emus in Wallaby Way. Not to be missed is the platypus display for Wally- the only platypus display of its kind on the Gold Coast.

Be sure to stop by the nocturnal house and spy on some shy creatures of the night including mahogany gliders, greater bilbies and fat-tailed dunnarts. You can also learn more about the wildlife by catching one of the daily presentations by park rangers, including the popular Fleay’s In Flight Show. David Fleay’s is no ordinary wildlife park and prides itself on education, conservation and caring for injured animals before they are returned to the wild. You will want to spend the day here, as you stroll the grounds. Bring a picnic and relax in the tranquil rainforest surroundings or enjoy a Devonshire tea at Fleay’s café. The nearby Tallebudgera Creek walking track offers additional opportunities for colourful bird watching as you wander past the creek and mangroves. Immerse yourself in nature and discover the natural fauna reserve and Australian wildlife at David Fleay’s Wildlife Park. Book your David Fleay Wildlife Park admission ticket today.

Overall the park is great. Great place for kids. All the animals looked very well looked after and happy to be on the show. All the workers are very friendly and never into much of a hurry where they can't stop and talk. The boardwalk around the park is also definitely worth it as part of it over looks the beach.

Excellent staff

Excellent staff, they were happy to stop and answer the kids' questions on the animals. Easy to walk around with young children and all the animals were visible. We loved the bird show. Wally the platypus by far my favourite, very cute. Clean facilities.

Amazing place

Amazing place, really lovely setting and you are able to get up nice and close to the animals. We saw a platypus which was amazing. And the staff were great. The birds in flight show were very well done with lots of birds turning up from around the area. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys learning more about some of the amazing animals that live in Australia.

We spent the morning at David Fleay Wildlife Park it was a great morning out. My son loved it! It is so nice being able to walk around the same paddocks as the animals. It still gets talked about. Will definitely be going again and recommending it to all my friends and family.

Really appreciated the ease

Really appreciated the ease, convenience and simplicity of the Experience Oz voucher and booking process. Had a great day with the grandchildren at this amazing wildlife sanctuary that we are so privileged to have right here on our doorstep. The park provided ranger-led activities each hour which had the kids enthralled. All the staff were fantastic and the cafe provided great food and service.

This little park was the highlight of my holiday. I did not expect it to be a full day of activity and fun. The staff were totally amazing and they were very helpful with every question I asked. Don’t let the size of this park put you off, you will love every part of it.

This place is amazing, it was very quiet and peaceful and lots of one on one time with animals, the bird show was amazing and the after dark show was very interesting with some cute animals. The nocturnal house was very good and we could see all the animals including the platypus.

What can I say other than wow! This place was fantastic full of beautiful wildlife, up close experiences a gorgeous pram/wheelchair track that leads around the whole park a nice little cafe and rangers who really know what they are talking about and talk about it with nothing but passion, I would take my kids here over and over again!

Just do this attraction
April Moulds-Dumbleton 1 year ago

Just do this attraction. This was one of my favourite places this trip. Quite a small park but this means nothing, it is big on animals, staff are so informative, the park is so very clean. We spent about five hours at this park, attending all the hourly talks on the wildlife. I will definitely be returning as I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Small park
Phillip Williams 1 year ago

Small park, spotlessly clean we were quite late when we arrived consequently we missed a lot of the shows but the park rangers took us to see a lot of things we even got to hold a snake, a low admission price means you can take the whole family without breaking the bank would definitely go again and spend more time!

Don't miss out on the Twilight Experience at David Fleay Wildlife Park, as it only runs from 5-14 April each year.
